Ross is the IT Security Director for UCLA. He is responsible for leading, developing, and managing a campus-wide security program and IT security initiatives that support all UCLA computing systems, for working with departments across campus to prevent vulnerabilities in UCLA’s systems, and for ensuring that UCLA maintain s security compliance with federal and state law and University of California policy. Both inside and outside the University, he coordinates his efforts with various academic, government, and industry entities and helps educate the campus community as to security regulations and threats in order to provide a more secure environment for information technology at UCLA.

Carmela has financial, administrative and operational responsibility for the Office of Information Technology. She also oversees communications, public relations and event logistics for the Office of Information Technology, the Institute for Digital Research and Education, and Academic Technology Services. She is closely tied to the UCLA Disabilities and Computing Program.

Bill Labate leads UCLA's Research Computing Technologies group. With a technology background that stretches over 25 years, Bill has a special focus on high performance computing, Grid infrastructure, IT and project management as well as financial planning and analysis of IT projects. He is responsible for the OIT relationship with the Institute for Digital Research and Engineering (IDRE) and is involved with the UC System efforts focused on Grid Computing and data centers. Bill and his group provide consulting and services to the campus in the following areas:

Nick and his group consult with and advise campus IT and user organizations on institutional architectural frameworks, technology strategy, and planning and project evaluation methodology. The emphasis is on initiatives that cut across traditional functional boundaries and/or affect large segments of the institution. The group also assists client departments in process reengineering to support their effective deployment of new technology.

Director, IT Integration and Compliance

Jackie, in a dual role with AIS, leads the communications and programs associated with BruinTech and the key IT groups on campus such as the Information Technology Compliance Coordinators group, Computing Support Coordinators (CSC), the Help Desk Consortium, the Security Administrators Group, and the Programmer's Exchange. She is responsible for ensuring representation, coordination, contribution, accountability and communications throughout campus organizations and communities on technology projects and initiatives.

Rose specializes in coordinating campus-wide, academic-focused IT web-based initiatives, system design projects, workflow systems and database projects. Rose has developed ongoing partnerships with IT vendors and provides application and organization consulting for academic IT units.
Rose is currently involved in several on-going projects, including: The DAT (Dossier Action Tracking) System, the Common Collaborative Learning Environment (CCLE), and AtmySenate. Rose is also leading UCLA's iTunes U efforts.

Kent provides thought leadership in shaping institutional policy and in participating in the national discourse on IT issues of strategic concern to the academy. Recognized as an expert in illegal file sharing, data breach incident response and related topics, he has been frequently invited to share his experiences at conferences and in publications. He works in close coordination with the campus IT governance committees and broadly across the institution; and collaborates with colleagues at other institutions, participates in national associations such as EDUCAUSE and sits on various advisory and policy committees.
