Women in Technology: 2018 UCLA Conference to Advance Women in Technology

Tuesday, May 22, 2018 - 5:00pm to 8:30pm

The next UCLA Conference to Advance Women in Technology will take place on Tuesday, May 22, 2018. Again, we will convene 250+ leaders and stakeholders, both men and women, for a collaborative conference and workshop sessions to reframe the discussion about the gender and diversity gap in the tech sector. The conference will explore ways to advance women of all races, backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses in the tech sector.

Conference Agenda:

5:00 – 6:00 pm Networking Reception

6:00 – 8:30 pm WIT Dinner with featured speakers

This year’s conference will address three keys areas where we expect to see lasting change:

  • Leadership and Empowerment: Leveling the playing field
  • Creating a Culture of Diversity and Inclusion: Increasing your company's competitive advantage
  • Negotiation Strategies: A closed mouth does not get fed

As a public university, our commitment is to provide a forum that brings together the tech community to help reduce gender inequality in the tech sector nationally. Only 20% of jobs in STEM are held by women, although women makeup over 50% of the workforce. Our goal with this conference is to educate and empower participants with actionable items and information that they can effectively incorporate into corporate, public, and entrepreneurial environments, resulting in measurable advancements for women in tech. Our goal is to explore effective ways to advance women of all races, backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses in the tech sector.

2018 speakers will be announced soon. See our list of 2016 speakers.
